Video: Prince EA: Backwards Rappers

It's been a minute, I've been traveling all over the place without much of an urge to do a post. Anyway, I ran into this video on Big Ghost's blog the other day and it reminded me of Nas's "Rewind". I like what he's trying to do here, I just wish he didn't have pink slippers on while doing it, lol. Otherwise, I think this is really creative and we need more "artists" doing stuff like this.

Childish Gambino (feat. Nipsey Hussle) - Black Faces

Another banger from Gambino aka Donald Glover.
"I don't fly Coach now, say I fly Goyard."

"Grind in my sleep man a ni99a need braces"

"People wrestle over petty cash, when we should really be crying over that 1 percent like we tipped the milk glass"

Let's take a trip back to 2004...

... and take a look at the XXL magazine article below where a nice sampling of rappers were asked whether or not they're into anal sex. Some of you probably saw this in its original print form but I was just made privy to it today.

I found some of the responses hilarious and my guess is that you will too. My favorites are paraphrased after the jump.

When it comes to anal I'm rolling with Fiddy as far as not really being into it, but some of the other responses had me dying laughing.

Lil Wayne: Oooh, my daddy said it in a song a minute ago and everybody started buffocking.

Talib: I'm much to pure to be doing anything such as that.

Jadakiss: "I don't pump on that block!" Apparently Jada is even nicer with the double entendre's than I thought.

Trina: I do it, I just don't want it to be in print.

Mr. Cheeks: Lights, camera, action!

Joe Budden: Only if a video vixen wants me to do it.

Nore: So after I sh*ts on the b*tch...

Bleek: I'm saying, what would Jay do?

Video: Stalley - Live At Blossom

This is one of my favorite tracks off of Stalley's "Savage Journey to the American Dream" mixtape. I like Stalley a lot but sometimes I think he underwhelms with his lyrics but I guess that means there's room for improvement if he really wants to perfect his craft. He seems like he's headed in the right direction, I just hope the MMG ties don't pull him too far into that coke/gangster rap lane.

"Now they crowding me, watching my every move cuz I'm the next king/Gracious and militant, Martin Luther's dream/Seen everything through the lens of Malcolm Little/Ready for the revolution same rifle, same window/Mannnn, what I get myself into"

Video: Nas - Daughters

I've been gone but I'm back like I left something. I wanted to post this Nas joint a week or so ago but I've been in-and-out of town so I'm just getting around to it. This song is dope!

Happy (G.O.O.D.) Friday!!!

Support the Kids!!!

About a year ago I wrote a post imploring one and all to support the Enoch Pratt Library's Summer Reading campaign. A campaign promoted by the Pratt Contemporaries, a group that I serve on the Board of. Last year more than 38,000 children and teens participated in Pratt's summer programs, with more than 15,000 children enrolled in the incentive-based Summer Reading Program, reading over 160,000 books!

Over the course of Summer 2012, there will be various summer reading events that will help children throughout the city to work on and hone their reading skills.

Just like last year, I'm encouraging you all to help the Pratt Contemporaries reach our goal of sponsoring 200 children for this summer. Sponsoring a child for the summer costs $60/child but you can make a contribution of less than $60 by visiting the sponsorship form, selecting "0" from the "No. of children you support" pull-down, and adding whatever amount you'd like to donate in the field next to "I would like to make an additional donation to the Summer Programs at Pratt." You can even make your donation in honor of (me, if you want) or in memory of someone that cared about reading, child literacy, or helping kids in general.

I'm definitely going to sponsor a child (or two) and I'd like to challenge you to do the same. Visit the sponsorship form at the URL below and feel free to leave a comment here with any additional questions you might have.
