First major television and film studio owned by an African-American producer

I have never been to the theater to see any of his movies (yeah go ahead and revoke my black card, whatever) but I have to admit that Tyler Perry is that dude.

I agree 100% but it seems like it's not getting the media coverage it should. This is really really HUGE.

No its not the first i even heard of it was via the interweb as you call it...

if it wasn't for the power of the email fw: i definitely wouldn't know anything about it...

but it seems the press is to busy NOT cover the racial tactics being thrown up but the mcCain/Palin camp and the fact that CEOs on wallstreet are off at resorts this week...

but you know that's how the media rolls these days

"if it wasn't for the power of the email fw: i definitely wouldn't know anything about it..." Right. Or if I didn't happen to watch Entertainment Tonight last night.

I won't even start on the media stuff.

I am actually not mad that the media isn't all over it. They are always late anyway - well mainstream media that is. If you really want to know what's going on in the world, you check the Internet and read blogs.

But I bet they will take notice when those television shows and movies start rolling off the lot. Black money going back into the community and towards black actors - LOVE IT!

Good point about the blogs and InterWeb. I usually do the InterWeb during the day and "mainstream" outlets at night (when I'm not busy).

But something like this had to be known long before the actual "grand opening/launch" so I still think it's a bit interesting that it didn't get more coverage. Let Tom Cruise open a joint and see what happens.

Black money going back into the community is a great thing and I hope that's really what happens.
