See, you are always posting something that I can't help but comment on...Smokey came at them like that drunk but brutally honest uncle at the family reunion. That was very well said, we do need to work on being proud of being "Black Americans," but so many of us are so slave-minded it's ridiculous. That hit home, another great post!
LOL @ the drunk uncle comment. I think Smokey made some very very good points that a lot of us probably have thought about but never said or perhaps have been a little afraid to say. I dunno why. LOL.
But I'd be interested in seeing you do a blogpost on the slave-mindedness of some of our people. I'd like to know your thoughts on that and I ge the feeling it's going to be longer than a single comment on a blogpost.
"slave-mindedness" totally would like to read that too...because there is definitely a difference between being a slave (willing giving over your freedom) and being enslaved (having your freedom taken from you) and many of us are in fact giving over our freedome like its nothing...
i definitely don't say i am african american because like he said someone can come from africa and they are an african american...i am black, and hell i even get folks telling me that i can't be all black because i look hispanic, mexican, even asian...yea i know...
like he said we are all mixed up...you know it is the truth as my granddaddy and my father (who is by the way or used to be that crazy drunk uncle that tells it like it is)
See why are you all trying to stir the pot? I damn near got banned from Yahoo chat a few years back for talking about slave-mindedness, I am not so sure Blogger can handle it. That "Modern Day Slavery" track is fire by the way.

Ya'll just made me think of this song, Modern Day Slavery, by Joel Ortiz feat. Immortal Technique.
