I've been telling people for years that this guy has some serious issues but he has a permanent Ghetto Pass that will neVaR be revoked. If he can still keep churning out songs that seem to resonate so well with Black folks (???) then we'll eventually forget that he made pRoN with an under-aged chick several years back and done God knows what else. Imagine what he was like when he and Aaliyah were allegedly an "item".
Ten years from now when people look at him as a psycho just like they do Mike Tyson and O-Jizzle, don't forget who called it (moi).

Oh come on that is a low blow! R. Kelly isn't on the same couch as Mike Tyson or O.J. for that matter. But, he does share "common R&B crooner with disturbed past" aspects that are so prevalent in the industry. In fact they need to pick him to play Marvin Gaye or Sam Cooke because he shares too many of their stories.
Compared to people like Jackie Wilson (who had so many kids with teenage girls he got banned from performing at high schools), he is a saint. Kells is a bit off-kilter, borderline musical genius and vulnerable to a fault. Growing up without a father has taken its toll, losing the only person he believed loved him (his mother) took its toll. While I love Aaliyah, she seemed to have an affinity for older men (Dame Dash)and obviously there is something about this man, that young women are so drawn to him. Not excusing his prior acts (especially the water sports...ick), but I am just tired of black folk acting like it's JUST him. When I was in HS, half the girls in my class were seeing men in their 20's. If nothing else R. Kelly represents issues we have in the black community that we always shake our heads at but never deal with.
So, ghetto pass? Maybe, but the real question is how can you blame someone that is just like so many others?
R Kelly is a grown-azz man. And regardless of what's happened to him in the past and who he has lost, that's no excuse for him to be peeing on young girls.
Perhaps putting him in the class of OJ and Iron Mike is a bit premature since he hasn't raped or killed anyone. But still, he's one of those figures that people always seem to forgive no matter what he does. I'm not denying that this guy isn't one of the most talented musicians out there because he definitely is a creative genius when it comes to music.
But Kellz has some MAJOR issues that you are right about in that lots of people have them. But the fact that he has so much money and is in the spotlight and can have influence on others should mean that he also use his resources to get some help and also use his fame to influence others.
