This joint just overtook "The People" as my favorite song of the moment. Or maybe it's a tie, I dunno. And check out the "Latino" video by Joell Ortiz.
yeah. those are my favs. "misterstood" first and "black maybe" second. But then again "break my heart" is great and of course i love "so far to go". It's just an all around GREAT CD!
BE is a classic disc. This is not as good as BE in my opinion. It's close but I feel like something's missing and I haven't figured it out yet.
Electric Circus was not a classic. that's one of my least favorite Common joints b/c he went so left field. That one may have been too far ahead of it's time. Or let's hope that's the case.
Bone, I'm glad you haven't heard that Talib now cause I have worn this track as well as every other track out now and probably ruined it for myself even though I still think it may be the best album this year.
Oh and I agree with you about the new common joint missing something that BE had. I think it's just a bit more mellow than the last and it takes away from it for some reason. Although I don't think it's an INSTANT classic I think it's an album we will look back on in about 5 years and think it was one of the best albums we own.
Funny thing Dane. I had the CD yesterday but some of the files were corrupted. LOL.
And maybe that's it Dane, this Common joint is a lil too Nag Champa for me. Meaning, you gotta go in a dark room and inhale second-hand weed smoke and nag champa incense to listen to it and think it's a classic. LOL.

That's because in 5 years we'll be transitioning to the point where Jon is now and we only listen to Jazz, R&B, and hip-hop like this Common CD. Sheeeit, I'll probably love Electric Circus in 2012! LOL.

Well, I really like "Black Maybe" and "Misunderstood" also, but I like the production on the "The People". It makes me wanna bop my head to it.
