I can't say enough about how much I really like The Weeknd's cover of MJ's classic, Dirty Diana. He takes this and definitely adds his style/flair to it. It'll never be the original but his cover is pretty friggin' good.
On the other side of the spectrum you have "Practice" by Drake which is not a true cover but close enough:
Don't get it twisted, I'm a big Drake fan but I don't think he did a good job on that one. It just doesn't flow well to me.
