Funny you say that because I was just talking with my man on Facebook about this same topic, Kanye's influence.
The fact of the matter is that a lot of kids will follow his style of dress and his hair and all that. But what I think people are missing is that 95% of Kanye that is not afraid to be a leader and do what he wants to do regardless of what people may think. The 5% that's a diva/attention seeker/prima donna is what kinda bothers me but I can live with that part.
It's not so much about what he's wearing but the fact that he's not afraid to "do him" like TC said above. He might be all by himself but I think he finds some satisfaction and comfort in that so that the 5% diva can one day say "everybody doing it now, I was the first though".
But the parts of Kanye's personality that people need to pay attention to is his work ethic, passion, and his unforgiving desire to step outside the box and do him.
Come on folks, Kanye looks like a broke ass Billy Ocean in these pics, for real.
Love Ye, I really do, but his mind is out there in the ethos right now. He actually believes that this look is cool!! Right now, hip-hop is desperate for a fashion swag. Everybody rockin those Urkel glasses (including your boy Hov), noone is getting haircuts (I still don't understand that one), and the skinny jeans on dudes looks extra sweet!
It's like if you want to be cool, hell look at Obama. He keeps a fresh cut, and it looks real good. Now that's cool. Not these outfits from two different eras that these rappers are trying to pass off as in style.
