NFL Picks - Week 3

This week, it's time for everyone to sip a little bit of that Cammy Cam Juice. Cam has been putting up good numbers so far and I don't expect those 300+ yard games to keep coming but he does have the Jags this week. Not to mention the Jags will have a rookie QB starting just like the Panthers. I'm gonna predict that Cam gets his first win this week. It's not a very courageous pick but still. As for the rest of my picks...

Pats over Buffalo: Buffalo's good this year, but not good enough to beat New England with the way Tom Brady is playing. I think this is gonna be a high scoring game but Belicheck's defensive mind > Fitzpatrick in crunch time.

Bengals over Niners: I really want to pick San Francisco in this one. I like their coach, they've got the best run defense in the league, and Cincy is starting a rookie. But I just can't take the Niners, not on the road.

Cleveland over Miami: Miami played well on the road last year but I don't think they'll be able to stop Cleveland from running the ball. Lots of Peyton Hillis and few well-timed play-action passes from Colt McCoy should do the trick in this one.

Titans over Denver: The Titans beat the Ravens last week but that's not why I'm picking them. I'm picking them because they play well at home, Chris Johnson is due for a break-out game, and Denver's QB is bound to make a few mistakes. And Kenny Britt is playing pretty freakin' good so far this year. Let's see if he can stay out of trouble off the field and keep producing on it.

Detroit over Minnesota: McNabb's washed up, Detroit's defensive line can crowd the run and rush the passer. Detroit's offense has too many weapons. Detroit in possibly a rout.

New Orleans over Houston: Houston's a trendy pick this year but in case you haven't noticed, New Orleans is still good. They could have won in Week 1 against GB and probably should have. They won last week, and now they get the Texans in the dome. I'm not betting against Drew "Did I Get the Mole Completely Removed" Brees in this one. Too many weapons and I think he will be able to expose the fact that the defense in Houston is a new one.

Philly over Giants: The Giants are injured all over the place and Philly has too many weapons.

Carolina over Jacksonville: Cam gets his first win!

Oakland over Jets: This is a pick I went back-and-forth about but I'm going out on a limb and taking a chance on Oakland here. They have been playing really well so far this year and Darren McFadden is looking really good running the ball. Of course, if anyone can stop him from running well it's probably the Jets, Steelers, or Ravens but I have a feeling that he'll be ok in this one. If Jason Campbell outplays Mark Sanchez the Raiders win this one.

Baltimore over St. Louis: After losing to Tennessee I'm expecting the Ravens to pulverize the Rams.

San Diego over Kansas City: Jamaal Charles is out, their defense stinks. What more do I need to say?

Green Bay over Chicago: Green Bay is simply a better team. Chicago can't protect Cutler very well and Aaron Rodgers will play well as long as they keep two guys blocking Julius Peppers. Much like New Orleans verses Houston, I think that Green Bay has too many weapons and too good of a QB to lose this one.

Arizona over Seattle: Arizona is slightly better than Seattle. I'm expecting Larry Fitzgerald to have a really good game.

Atlanta over Tampa Bay: How Atlanta is the underdog in this game when they won against the Eagles last week is beyond me.

Pittsburgh over Indy: Tougher team overall and Peyton's not coming back any time soon.

Washington over Dallas: This is going to be a fun game to watch. I think Romo's going to play well and I'm hoping Rex plays well also. I know it's going to be tough for the Skins to go into Dallas and win this game but I think that they will stick to running the ball and controlling the clock and allowing Rex to take a few shots downfield. A hurt Romo is still pretty dangerous but without Dez, Miles, and probably Felix Jones (if he plays I don't think he'll be in there long), I think the Redskins can pull this one off.

Football BACK! Football Back! That's all the fans screaming that FOOTBALL BACK!

All eyes on the field, you can picture me throwin'
Time to hit the weight room cuz I gotta get swollen
All summer I balled, hoodrats having my babies
Somehow the deal got done, even though the owners were shady
They screaming football back! football back!
That's all the fans screaming that FOOTBALL BACK!

In case you're wondering, YES I wrote that myself but it's inspired by Rick Ross' "Tupac Back".

Now that I've got that out of my system I will continue my tradition of picking my winners for each week of the NFL season. Without any further (Freddy) adieu, here are my picks for Week 1.

Green Bay over New Orleans: Opening night after a Superbowl win, at home, I'm taking the Pack! I really hope this is going to be as great a game as I'm thinking it will. Two great offenses that can put up points and one defense that's really good. I'm hoping this turns into a shoot-out and not a defensively-dominated game. We'll get enough defense this weekend when the Steelers and Ravens clash.

Atlanta over Chicago: If Atlanta can play good defense this year they are going to make things difficult for GB, New Orleans, and presumably Philly. They aren't so much a sleeper pick this year as they were in years past but we all know their offense is balanced and they've added another weapon in Julio Jones (though I expect Harry Douglas to have a break-out season), but the question is how well will their defense play because they'll have to go through one or more of those teams I just mentioned in order to get to the Superbowl.

Cleveland over Cincinnati: Finish this sentence: "They should call this game the Dookie Bowl because both of these teams play like some..." But, Cleveland's a better team overall with Peyton Hillis, Josh Cribbs, and (dare I say it) Colt McCoy. Speaking of McCoy, he's looked stellar in the preseason and I'm actually rooting for him to do well this year because he's on one of my fantasy teams (bench guy, of course) and because everyone was hating on him last year. Evidently, the offense they're running now is much better suited to his skillset or he's adapted. Hopefully he does well.

Kansas City over Buffalo: Although I think this is the year when the Chiefs fall off a cliff and land in third place in this division, I don't have the confidence for Buffalo to go on the road and get this win. I love my man Stevie Johnson and I want him to do well but I just can't see Buffalo's defense stopping Charles, Bowe, and Cassel (since it appears he'll play even with the rib "issue").

Philadelphia over St. Louis: I'm not as sold on Philly (I won't dare mouth the term, "Dream Team") even on paper as other people seem to be. Like I have mentioned to numerous people, it's a long season and each game still has to be played and injuries can happen. Philly went out this season and did the same things Dan Snyder used to try to do in Washington every off-season. The only difference is, the Eagles were smart enough to get guys still in their prime rather than past their prime versions of Deion Sanders and Bruce Smith and whomever else I don't want to remember us signing. Philly will win this game but I bet St. Louis and Mr. Bradford keep things close. By the way, Mike Sims-Walker much?

Detroit over Tampa Bay: Detroit is my sleeper team in the NFC this year. Their D-LINE is going to be a P-R-O-B-L-E-M!  Seriously, the only other person that believes this as much as me is Michael Wilbon. Yet-and-still, you cannot block all these freak athletes on that line, even with Nick Fairley out for the time being. If Detroit's offense can keep Jahvid Best healthy and Matt Stafford healthy...Watch OUT!  Megatron is gonna do his thing regardless and another one of my sleeper performers this year is Titus Young. Just remember the name and that he's their slot receiver.  Tampa Bay's my brother's favorite team so I sometimes care if they win but this game is not one of those times.

Tennessee over Jacksonville: I'm picking the Titans mainly because of Pinbal (read: Chris Johnson) and the fact that I think the Jags are going to quit on their coach this year. After the way Jack Del Rio handled the David Garrard situation (he basically Byron Leftwich'd him) I don't see how that team can respect him enough to go out there and play with a mediocre QB for a few weeks just to have him transition things over to a rookie QB. I'm sure MJD will be out there giving it his all but I'd bet that there are guys on that team that are just gonna be playing hard enough to not get hurt. That sounds weird but if you've played football you know that mailing it it can turn into serious injury.

Baltimore over Pittsburgh: I'm taking the Ravens for a few reasons: 1) Revenge. The Ravens lost last season to Pittsburgh in the playoffs. 2) The Ravens will win this because it's the regular season and not the playoffs when it really matters. 3) This is the shocker... I would like to see the Ravens win this game. And finally 4) because I live in Baltimore and people are genuinely happier here for the week when the Ravens win. But if it's a close game (which it most likely will be) and it comes down to Joe Flacco winning the game on a 2-minute drive I will be mentally changing my pick to the Steelers because Joe's good, but he still hasn't shown me that he can win the big game against tough opponents, in clutch time. Over Cincy and Cleveland sure, but against the best competition, not so much.

Houston over Indianapolis: Even if Peyton was playing I'd still take Houston.  Houston's going to win the division this year if their defense can play even just a smidgeon better than mediocre at the cornerback position. If their corners play well, they win the division. If their corners suck, they finish second or third in a division (Colts, Titans, Jags) that they should easily finish at the top of if Peyton's out for an extended period of time. The Texans have the Ravens, Falcons, Steelers, Saints, and Raiders on their schedule. Aside from those games, they could probably run the table. You're laughing but seriously go look, if they were the Patriots you'd be saying "yo, they could run the table outside of those games". The Texans should be a 9 or 10 win team this year, that's all I'm saying.

Arizona over Carolina: Cam's first year, Kolb's "first" year sort of. I'll take Kolb and Fitzgerald over Cam and Shockey. Home field advantage doesn't mean much here but if Arizona lets DeAngelo Williams get going early this could definitely be a Carolina win.

San Diego over Minnesota: $20 says Donovan McNabb comes out looking rusty and throws an INT or 2. Adrian Peterson is gonna get his yards but I'm not convinced that the Vikings defense can stop San Diego and I'm definitely not convinced that the Vikings offense can score the way San Diego potentially can. I want Donovan to do well but I have a feeling that in this game he might try to do too much to prove everyone (read: Mike & Kyle Shanahan) wrong.

San Francisco over Seattle: Flip a coin, who cares. Sorry Lance. Granted, on paper this should be a win for the 49ers. Pretty talented group with Gore, Crabtree, Edwards, and Willis leading the defense. But the one spot they stink at is the most important one, quarterback. If Alex Smith can play well this should be an easy win but he usually makes things hard on himself and his team. As for the Seahawks, I think they should do like the Supersonics and move to Oklahoma. Only difference is, I think they should replace the Seahawks roster with Oklahoma's roster and I bet you it'd be a more competitive team.

Giants over Redskins: By now you know I'm a Redskins fan. Not yet a reluctant fan but I do consider myself a realistic Skins fan. If you read my prediction for the Skins season this year you know I expect us to lost this game. It's gonna suck to lose your home opener in Week 1 but the Giants defensive line pressuring Rex Grossman just doesn't seem like something I should have a whole lot of confidence in.

Jets over Dallas: I would not be surprised one bit if Dallas wins this game. I think Dallas is going to be good this year with Romo back and they've still got a LOT of weapons on offense. Problem is, the Jets defense is a beast and pressuring Romo either turns him into Brett Favre or Heath Shuler. I'm taking Shuler on this one.

New England over Miami: The funny thing about the Patriots is that even though the only true big name they put on the field every week is Tom Brady, you can never bet against these dudes. Especially not against a team like the Dolphins that probably has more big name talent but just can't put the whole package together.  Don't sleep on Cameron Wake on Miami's defensive line though. That dude is a monster!

Denver over Oakland: Oakland is a trendy pick here because they ran the table in their division last year. But I'm not falling for it. In Denver against Football Jesus (Tim Tebow) - even though he probably won't play - I don't think so.  In the end, Kyle Orton was the right choice to start at QB and if the Broncos are smart they create a goal line package centered around Tebow. Orton had a great rapport with Brandon Lloyd last year (as fantasy owners will attest) and Knowshown backed up by Willis "Looking For My Next Baby Momma" McGahee is a good dual attack at running back. I think Denver has a chance to do well this year but the problem is, their defense is ridiculously porous. If they can tighten things up on defense they should be decent enough to finish in the top half of this division. They'll win this game then lose to the Raiders in Oakland.

P.S. - No, I don't have Superbowl picks yet.

NFL Picks - Week 15

Three games left in the season, except for this guy.

Normally this is the time when things are either really exciting (for those teams jockeying for playoff position) or really boring (for those teams that have no chance of making the playoffs). I'm guessing the playoffs turn out like this...

AFC
New England
Pittsburgh
Kansas City
Jacksonville
Baltimore
San Diego (yes San Diego. And I realize the Jets would basically have to lose-out the remainder of the season and the Chargers would have to win-out)

NFC
Atlanta
Philly
Chicago
New Orleans
NYG
Seattle (I know, I know. San Fran is probably the trendy pick here but I'm gonna gamble on the bum-azz Seahawks)

I'm not sure of who I think will win it all yet though.

San Diego over San Fran: San Diego needs this win. They are a more talented team and the only way I can seem them losing is if they self-destruct.

Bengals over Browns: Flipped a coin and when I looked it had T.O. and Ocho Cinco's face on it.

Dallas over Washington: My Skins will lose yet another one. As far as talent goes, Dallas is far more talented than the Bucs who we (as I predicted about halfway through this game) found a way to lose to.

Houston over Tennessee: Tennessee won't be able to stop Houston from scoring. I'm expecting a shoot-out in this one.

Jags over Colts: This may signal the beginning of the end of the Colts dominance in this division. Then again, maybe that was week 1 when Arian Foster went all Adrian Peterson on the Colts.

Chiefs over Rams: Chiefs are the better team and need the win.

Dolphins over Bills: Flipped a coin on this one too. The Dolphins have a better record but the Bills play harder. It would not surprise me at all to see the Bills show more heart than the Dolphins and pull this one out.

Philly over NYG: If Philly can stop the run and force Forrest Gump to beat them, this is a win for the Eagles.

Tampa over Detroit: Tampa is solid enough to win this one.

Arizona over Carolina: Arizona's only slightly better than Carolina but they'll show up in this one and get the "W".

New Orleans over Baltimore: The Ravens lose at home for the second time this season. Unless the Ravens can put some points on the board early I expect the Saints to be pretty consistent on offense (though it won't be a rout by any means) and do enough on defense to confuse Joe Flacco and contain the Ravens here-one-week-gone-the-next offense. If this turns into a shoot-out, the Ravens and their DBs have no chance.

Atlanta over Seattle: Atlanta isn't losing this week either folks.

Oakland over Denver: Denver's a team in disarray and Oakland appears to be a team (dare I say it) that'll be one to be reckoned with next year. Wow, I just said that.

Pittsburgh over NYJ: The Jets are showing their true colors. Defense wins championships but unless their defense can score like the Ravens defense used to, there will be no championship. And I will take a gritty Pittsburgh team that sticks to the run and play-action pass to control the clock and make a couple big plays in this game. But I am definitely sitting Mike Wallace and Big Ben on my fantasy squad this week (though I have a feeling Wallace has one or two big plays coming his way this week).

New England over Green Bay: The Packers only have a chance if Aaron Rodgers plays. And even then, the Patriots can keep pace with the Packers when it comes to scoring. I'd expect the Packers defense to break before the Patriots defense does. Although the Pats defense does bend quite a bit, they never really break. And their consistency on offense always keeps them in games even with the defense gives up yardage. Besides, how (at this point) can you pick against the Patriots in cold and/or inclement weather?

Chicago over Minnesota: Much like Brett Favre's season, the Vikings season is done. Favre probably won't play again eVAR and Tavaris Jackson is on the IR. They signed Patrick "I used to be a Redskins QB not named Rypien or Williams, isn't that enough" Ramsey and their other QB option is Joe Webb who is a freak athlete that they wanted to play wide-out originally. I say all this to say, it's time for Minnesota guys to start thinking about the sex boat outing they will be on once it gets warmer on the lake.

NFL Picks - Week 14

Somehow it seems ironically fitting that Ben R. has gotten punched in the face twice this year. Once on purpose and the other in the flow of the game, with the first one leveling him and the other breaking his nose. Or maybe it's just me and the girl he allegedly raped in the bathroom of a bar that feel this way. Not that I want to see the man hurt at all but I just think it's kinda funny.

Nevertheless, Ben came away with a across nose but also a HUGE divisional win on Monday night. Kudos to the Steelers and a smh to Joe Flacco who short-armed the hell out of the throw that would have kept the Ravens final drive alive and maybe let to a game-tying field goal (at the least). I've been saying all along that Joe Flacco has the tools to be a great quarterback but cannot handle the pressure. After Monday night, I rest my case. Where's Trent Dilfer when John Harbaugh needs him?

Indianapolis over Tennessee: Indianapolis needs this win and the Titans appear to be descending. I'll take Peyton in this one even with the shytload of interceptions he's thrown over the past few weeks.

Buffalo over Cleveland: Buffalo's been playing well all season (with the exception of last week) and I'm hoping they haven't started to mail it in. I'm a little leery about this pick because my gut is telling me the Bills' players are thinking about sunshine and margarita's in the Caribbean coming up and not about stopping Peyton Hillis. I've only picked one underdog this week (Washington) so maybe I'll change this one before the Thursday night game. We'll see.

Cleveland over Buffalo: Just realized Buffalo has the worst run defense in the league and Peyton Hillis is the new Mike Allstott. But the whole Jake Delhomme factor (in the event this comes down to a shoot-out) kinda makes me nervous. Hopefully it'll be snowy in Buffalo and the game will be mostly rushing (the forecast is calling for rain/snow).

Green Bay over Detroit: Aaron Rodgers much?

Giants over Vikings: The Giants and the Vikings are both two teams that can look good at times but really aren't going to do much if they make it to the post-season. Presumably the Giants will and I'm about 100% sure the Vikings won't. But, the Giants defensive line can potentially wreak havoc every single week from both sides of the line. I don't think Tavaris (or Brett) can handle that constant pressure. The Giants also have proven to have a very solid run game with the combination of Bradshaw and Psycho Jacobs. Minnesota has the 3rd ranked rushing defense in the league so it'll be an interesting match-up in that regard. If Minnesota runs AP 30 times and shuts down the running game of the G-Men I think they'll win. But something tells me the Giants (like the Eagles) will realize that they need this win to stay tied atop the NFC East and pull off the win.

Pittsburgh over Cincy: Cincy stinks and Pittsburgh plays tough. Hopefully Ben has a big day to help out my fantasy squad.

Washington over Tampa: The Redskins will show some heart and win this game at home. Apologies in advance to my brother who is a Bucs fan.

Atlanta over Carolina: Like my man Lance mentioned last week, Atlanta is due for a loss, but I just don't see the Panthers being good enough to pull it off.

Jacksonville over Oakland: I really want to pick Oakland, I really do. I think they've got the potential to win this game in a close battle. But Jacksonville's been toughing out wins lately and showing a lot of heart.

New Orleans over St. Louis: Drew Brees is going to have a good day.

49ers over Seattle: Flipped a coin and when I looked at it there was Mike Singletary starting at me like he used to do opposing QBs at the line of scrimmage. How was I supposed to NOT pick the Niners after that happening?

Patriots over Bears: Another case (like last week) of Bill Belicheck against a young QB. You know who won last week and expect it to happen again this week. Jay Cutler (no matter how well he's been playing in recent weeks) is always one week away from throwing a gazillion interceptions. I expect this to be the week he does just that. But if the Pats don't find a way to stop Julius Peppers it could be a long day for Tom Brady.

Denver over Arizona: Even with McDaniels gone I expect Denver to win this game. And no, I don't have any idea who his replacement is.

Chargers over Chiefs: Chargers lost last week to the Raiders and they need this win. If the Chiefs get out early and put points on the board this pick my go to smithereens. The Chiefs beat the Chargers back in week 1 and I'm sure the 6-6 Chargers who were surging (till last week) remember that. Also, I'm sure the Chargers are fully aware that they NEED to win this game to stay in the playoff picture.

Eagles over Cowboys: The Cowboys have been looking good lately and have beaten some decent teams. I think that Michael Vick however, poses a unique threat to them that none of the other teams the Cowboys have beat recently posed. And that is, a QB with the ability to run the ball if need be and also create on the run. Aside from that, the Eagles need to win this game to keep pace in the NFC East lead and I don't think they'll let the Cowboys get in the way of it.

Ravens over Texans: I expect the Ravens to fall behind early in this game but come back to win. Houston can run the ball well and pass well. That is, well enough to score on the Ravens defense that isn't as good as it used to be. The bad part for Houston is that their defense STINKS to high Heaven so I also expect the Ravens and Joe "Freeze-up in crunchtime" Flacco to be able to put up points on them.

NFL Picks - Week 13

It's about that time!!!

This week has some good match-ups with playoff implications. You've got Ravens/Steelers, Pats/Jets, and Falcons/Bucs. Not to mention some other divisional rivalries that'll can potentially impact one team's playoff chances (Bears/Lions, Kansas City/Denver, Giants/Skins, and Chargers/Raiders).

Before I get into my picks this week I have to comment on the Johnson/Finnegan "fight".

This was a decent semi-scrap slash skirmish or whatever. But based on Goodell's reputation for being a disciplinarian I can't see how Andre Johnson didn't get suspended a game for this, if not both of them. I mean he two-pieced Courtland pretty good there. If this were James Harrison of the Steelers connected to someone's dome he would have gotten a 4-game suspension I bet. Even Finnegan said if he'd have swung like Johnson did, he'd probably be suspended (Finnegan has a reputation for being a dirty player). I'm really surprised the NFL only levied $25K fines for both players and didn't suspend. Is the league saying it's ok to fight? Really? I wish they'd have done more to show that this type of behavior is intolerable, even if it meant that arguably the best WR in the league would have to sit out a week.

Now for my picks. I'm betting the Ravens/Steelers game will be the best game this week and I'm picking the Ravens to win this one at home. As for the full list of picks, here ya go:

Philly over Houston: Houston's pass defense is statistically worse than the Redskins. Remember what the Eagles did to the Redskins?

Saints over Bengals: I thought about taking the Bengals but then I came to my senses. It's gonna be cold in Ohio and the Saints are a dome team but in the end, I just don't think the Bengals are gonna pull it off. Nor do I think they can stop the Saints from scoring.

Bears over Lions: I'm not as convinced as to how good the Bears are after last week's win over Philly but I do think they're going to beat the Lions. Jay Cutler is always one game away from being horrible so it wouldn't surprise me if he plays mediocre. But after Julius Peppers's last game, I just don't see the Lions offense being able to manage a win.

Packers over 49ers: The win against ARIZONA didn't fool me, San Fran isn't that good. They're relatively good. That is, relative to everyone else in their division. Go to Green Bay and pull out a win against a team that can score on just about any defense? I think not. Especially when Green Bay's coming off a loss.

Jacksonville over Tennessee: Jacksonville's a lot better than I give them credit for (I think it's because MJD started off so slowly this year for my fantasy squad) and Tennessee seems to be a team headed in the wrong direction.

Kansas City over Denver: After their last meeting and the embarrassment the Chiefs must have felt, I don't think there's any way they lose this game. And Dwayne Bowe is playing like a beast right now.

Miami over Cleveland: I really wanted to pick Cleveland in this one (and I still kinda do) but I think Jake Delhomme is going to be the weak link, especially considering Miami is ranked 4th against the pass. Stack the box to stop Peyton Hillis and defend the pass, that'll hopefully be the game plan.

Buffalo over Minnesota: Upset special. Minnesota squeaked by the Redskins last week and I think Buffalo's playing with the most heart of any mediocre (lol) team in the league right now. They're in just about every game and they've got some talent in Fred Jackson, Stevie (last week we could have called him "Stonehands") Johnson, and Lee Evans. This is my gut feeling pick of the week.

Giants over Redskins: The Giants are the better all-around team. I don't think my Skins are going to Giants stadium and pull out a win. Sorry fellas.

Chargers over Raiders: If the Chargers defense shows up, this should be a fairly easy win. I don't think they'll blow the Raiders out but I do think they'll dominate.

Indy over Dallas: I totally picked Dallas to win this game initially then decided against it. Peyton had a bad game last week so I'm 100% sure he's been studying his azz off this week and will find a way to take advantage of Dallas's iffy corners. The only problem here is that Indy cannot stop the run or run the ball AT ALL. But I don't think Dallas can stop Indianapolis from scoring if the Colts o-line can keep DeMarcus Ware in check. I'm going to go with the older Manning brother in this one.

Rams over Cardinals: Arizona proved to me on Monday night that they are not worth picking anymore this entire season. Depending on the match-up I may go with them (similar to why I went with them last week) but this week the Rams and Sam "I'm playing better than Mark Sanchez already" Bradford along with Steven "Yup, I'm still really really good but stuck in the 'Lou" Jackson will rip them a new one.

Seattle over Carolina: Seattle's not very good. But they are good enough to beat the Panthers after the Panthers have had to travel across the country. I still expect it to be close and I expect Mike Goodson to have a solid game nonetheless.

Falcons over Bucs: Falcons overall balance as a team gets them the win. The Bucs are a solid team and they will play well but I think the Falcons are just a better team. If the Falcons don't turn the ball over too many times and create points for Bucs I expect them to win this one.

Ravens over Steelers: The Ravens haven't lost at home. I think their pride won't let them lose this one. It's gonna be a tough game and it's gonna be close through-out but I think the Ravens will pull this one out at home. And yes, it's hard to fathom that the Ravens will sweep the Steelers this year but they got the tougher win (the at Pittsburgh one) already. And I don't think they'll take that for granted and fail to prepare well for this game.

Patriots over Jets: Bill Belicheck's defensive schemes > Mark Sanchez's QB abilities. Aside from that, the Pats lost to the Jets earlier in the year and I'm sure they'll be out for a little payback in a big time Monday Night divisional match-up. I fully expect Tom Brady to get his Peyton Manning on this week.

NFL Picks - Week 12

GOODBYE CHILLY!

The Vikings finally came to their senses this week and fired Brad "I'm No Pu$$y Like Brett Favre" Childress. My only question to their ownership is, why didn't they just send Brett right along with him? All season these two have disliked one-another and been having a pissing contest over who really runs the offense. If both of these guys would have put their egos aside and looked to the side they'd have seen one of the best 3 RBs in the league standing right there. That is, Adrian Peterson. All Brad had to do was keep feeding the beast. Now, he's gone. Pretty soon, Brett will be gone too. I'm predicting a season and therefore career-ending injury for Brett in the next couple weeks. Until then, watch the Vikings somehow manage a win IN WASHINGTON this week to give everyone in the media and the Brett Favre knob-slobbers something to hold onto for a week or so (no Jenn Sterger to everything questionable in that last sentence).

And now, my picks...

New England over Detroit: Unless something really ridiculous happens (on multiple occasions) in this game, New England should win. I expect Detroit's defensive line to play well but not well enough to stop Tom Brady.

New Orleans over Dallas: Dallas is playing a lot better and so is New Orleans. If Dallas hadn't looked like crap until two weeks ago I'd probably take them this week. But I think New Orleans is surging and even though Dallas is playing well I think this is the first post-Phillips test that they will fail. I was VERY tempted to take the Cowboys at home but with John Kitna at the helm and one hell of a defensive coordinator in New Orleans, I have to take the Saints. Not to mention I expect Drew Brees to be able to easily throw on the Dallas secondary.

Jets over Cincy: After screwing up my picks last week there's NO WAY I could pick the Bengals against a Jets team with a solid defense and the ability to pull wins out of their azzez every week.

Atlanta over Green Bay: They've gone under the radar long enough. This is the week Atlanta gets the respect their due. I didn't believe they had it until they beat the Ravens but now I think they may very well be the top team in the NFC even though they're probably the one nobody pays attention to (ahem Giants and Philly fans).

Pittsburgh over Buffalo: Pittsburgh coming off a solid win in Oakland and I think they may still be a bit pissed about their loss at home the week before the Oakland game. I expect them to go up to Buffalo and run the ball, run the ball, run the ball. I'm expecting a pretty big day for Mendenhall and some nice play-action passing from Ben.

Cleveland over Carolina: Cleveland isn't that good by any means but Peyton Hillis is a MONSTER! How are the Panthers gonna stop him and find a way to score points with Pierre St. Jacques at the QB position?

Giants over Jacksonville: I'm going with the Giants but I would not be surprised if Eli "Forrest Gump" Manning found a way to screw this one up. The Giants need a win to try and keep pace in the division and I think they'll find a way to pull this one out. The loss of Steve Smith might be hurting the Giants (well, aside from fumble-itis) more than people realize. Jacksonville on the other hand, is playing much better than they probably should be. MJD's got it in gear and they're looking like they might be a contender. This game will come down to the wire.

Minnesota over Washington: No, the win in Tennessee did not put me into the "over-zealous and unrealistic Skins fan" zone. Just when you get your hopes up, we lose by a TON coming off a bye week to Phillly. Just when you get your hopes up, we win on the road in Tennessee and then give up a win at home against a 57 year old QB. If the Redskins are smart defensively (which is questionable), we'll load up the box to stop Adrian Foster and make Old Man Favruh beat us. At least that's what I'd do. I'll take my chances with the old man gun-slingin' and making questionable choices throwing the ball like he normally does. That might just work. The problem with the Redskins is that if McNabb is having an off day, it's a wrap. The running game is weak-to-nonexistent and they don't have a true #1 receiver that they can go to when necessary (closest thing is Chris Cooley). Skins lose, AT HOME.

Houston over Tennessee: I would say this is a shoe-in for Houston since the Titans appear to be starting someone name Rusty Miller at QB. But the Texans defense gives up yards and points to ANYBODY! They are however, super-talented on offense. If Tennessee can't stop Arian Foster it'll be a long day. If they can't stop Andre Johnson it'll be a long day.

Oakland over Miami: Oakland got beat up by Pittsburgh the other day but I expect them to rebound from that loss. Miami has to travel cross-country and play a team coming off a home loss. It won't be easy. I just hope that Jason Campbell gets it together. Then again, I don't really care per se I just want Oakland to win so my pick is right.

Kansas City over Seattle: I never sleep on the Seahawks at home because for some reason I tend to believe they have a better home-field advantage than most other teams being wayyyyy up there and wayyyy over there (you know what I mean). But, Kansas City is just a better team all-around.

Philly over Chicago: Can you say shoot-out? Mike Vick's mobility will be tested this game. I am hoping for a shoot-out in this one. Jay Cutler doesn't care, he'll throw it 70 times if you want to. Andy Reid will definitely let Mike Vick throw it 40 times. And with Mr. Jackson and Mr. Maclin running those speed routes, the pressure's on the Bears's defense. Good luck with that.

Denver over St. Louis: Kyle Orton to Brandon Lloyd! Expect to hear this a lot.

Baltimore over Tampa Bay: The Ravens are talented and tough enough to win this easily but they'll find a way to make it difficult. They're playing against a young QB they should presumably be able to confuse with a variety of different defensive coverages. They should be able to hold the run in check and only give up 70-80 yards. And on paper, the Ravens have one hell of a set of offensive weapons. I'm just never convinced that the Ravens are a guaranteed win unless it's against a team like the Panthers that sucks beyond belief. Remember, the Ravens came close to losing at home against the Bills earlier this season. Granted, the Bills aren't as bad as their record indicates but they still should have never had a chance against the Ravens.

Colts over Chargers: I know San Diego will be the trendy pick with Mr. Rivers throwing for a bazillion yards and a bazillion TDs so far this season (7 in his last 2 games). Not to mention that the Chargers have had the Colts number as of late. But, somehow the Colts manage to play well against solid teams (see, Colts/Pats last week). The game is in Indy so I think that means there's a slight home-field advantage for the Colts. If Collie's back I think Peyton has an even better chance of winning. This would have been an additional underdog pick for me but I'm not going to bet against Peyton at home against a team that I think they can keep pace with.

Chargers over Colts: Initially I thought Colts at home. But now looking at the facts that: 1) SD is #1 in the league in sacks, 2) SD gives up the least passing yards/game in the league (not that this matters as much as #1), 3) SD has the 3rd best rushing defense in the league (and Indy has very little of a running game), and 4) we are probably in the midst of that patented SD midseason surge. With all that said, I've gotta go with SD winning in a shoot-out.

Arizona over San Francisco: The 49ers looked bad last week. The Cardinals have looked bad all season. But who better to spoil any chance whatsoever that the Niners still have of winning this division? By the way, this division really is a horrible division!

NFL Picks - Week 11

First and foremost, shot out to Mike Vick for having an amazing season so far and beating the BRAKES off my favorite team on Monday Night. If I were him I'd probably be doing this behind closed doors to everyone that STILL wants to see him fail because of the dogfighting conviction and him being a conceited, arrogant, herpes-spreading prick back in his Atlanta days.

Yeah, I'd be doing that behind closed doors ONLY lol.

I'm glad to see Vick has improved quite a bit as a (passing) QB - he's always been great at running - and that he's seemingly matured quite a bit. I just hope that his growth off the field as a human being is far more pronounced than his growth on the field as a football player. At the end of the day Michael Vick is a person just like the rest of us and to see him grow more as a person than an athlete is what will be really impressive to me. So far, it looks like that's the case and I'm rooting for him, even when he beats the crap out of my favorite NFL team.

As a Redskins fan I have no excuse for that Toby-esque whippin' we took. Not blaming Shanahan, McNabb, Haynesworth, Snyder, or anyone else. That's a team loss and a historically embarrassing team loss at that. Yet and still, you know what it is....BLACK-AND-YELLOW-BLACK-AND-YELLOW!

Now for my picks this week...

Chicago over Miami: I'm sorry, I just don't think they can win with Tyler Thigpen as the starter. Even with the Wildcat I think that Chicago's defense is solid enough to win this game. I really really want to pick Miami because I think they're well-coached AND they're playing at home. But I think that the Bears defense is gonna pull some good tricks out the bag for Mr. Thigpen.

Cincinnati over Buffalo: Sorry Buffalo, this won't be a two-game winning streak. As much as I think Carson Palmer stinks to high heaven, I don't think the Bengals are gonna give up this game at home. Besides, Chad can celebrate his engagement with a few TDs.

Dallas over Detroit: I will say this about the CowGirls. They looked kinda dangerous last week. Not "we gonna make a playoff run" dangerous (aaaahhhbviously!) but "we gonna fock up a few people's shot at the playoffs" dangerous. They seem to have a renewed energy so I expect them to win this game, especially at home.

Titans over Redskins: After getting obliterated by the Eagles and next up having to play in Tennessee against a well-coached team with a sick running back and a really good defense... Yeah, I'm not picking my favorite team in this one. I expect Chris Johnson (aka Pinball) to break 200 yards.

Chiefs over Cardinals: Even after the loss last week within their division I still think that Kansas City might actually be for real this year (speaking of, I'm officially convinced that the Falcons are the real deal).

Green Bay over Minnesota: The Vikings season ended last week. Check out Brett Favre's curtain call against his old team. After the Vikings lose this one I hope Chilly is intelligent enough (yeah right) to start Tavaris Jackson so they'll have an idea of what next year might be like. Imagine Tavaris Jackson pulling a Michael Vick next year. It's possible.

Jets over Houston: The single solitary reason I am picking the Jets in this one is that Houston's defense stinks so bad that even the slowly-getting-better Mark Sanchez should be able to put up a few TDs. Ok, two reasons. The other is that this game is a home game for the Jets. I'm not sold on the Jets as much as I thought I'd be at this point in the season and for as many wins as they've squeaked out (against solid teams though), I think QB play is what's going to determine their season. And I'm just not sold on Sanchez being able to pull through and actually win one in the clutch against a really good team. Fortunately for them, Houston is not a really good team but just average.

Steelers over Raiders: Omar Epps alter-ego slash body-double (Mike Tomlin) is my favorite coach in the league right now. That's it. Nothing more.

Baltimore over Carolina: Who is playing QB for the Panthers again? Oh yeah, it doesn't matter.

Cleveland over Jacksonville: After talking trash about the Browns before they beat the Pats and watching them come close to beating the Jets last week I'm going to go out on a limb here and take them against Jacksonville. The Jags got lucky last week and I don't believe they're as good as their record says they are. Not to mention taht as of late, Celeveland's been playing better than their record indicates.

Atlanta over St. Louis: Like I said earlier, I'm convinced the Falcons are for real this year. They may actually be the best team in the NFC even though everyone was talking about the Giants a week ago.

New Orleans over Seattle: Taking the Saints because they're at home at coming off a bye week.

Tampa Bay over San Fran: Sorry @riprock81, I gotta go against your boys this week. Tampa Bay (to my shagrin and my brother's excitement) is a solid football team this year. San Francisco is inconsistent at best. I am however rooting for Troy Smith to have a good game and hopefully for him to be their starter in the future. I think he got a raw deal in Bmore (let go in lieu of Mark Bulger).

Pats over Colts: The Colts could possibly will themselves to a win in this one because of Peyton. BUT, I do not see them doing it in Foxborough. Dome team in New England? I dunno buddy!

Philly over Giants: This is a bandwagon/trendy pick I know because of how the Eagle buffocked the Redskins on Monday night. I don't expect the Eagles to play that well against the Giants defensive front. But I don't think either of these teams can stop one-another from being successful offensively (Philly with the pass, NYG with the run) so I think it'll come down to QB play. And even with his Superbowl ring I don't think Forrest Gump (Eli Manning) will be able to pull it off. Mike Vick's legs might actually be the difference in this one.

Chargers over Denver: THIS JUST IN....The Bolts have the 2nd easiest schedule in the league from here on out. You know what that means right? They're gonna run off 4 or 5 wins and look like a Superbowl contender until they get to the playoffs. Every year it happens... Wash, rinse, repeat!

NFL Picks -Week 10

The hit felt 'round the league last weekend...

Since I've essentially ethered myself in my Pick'Em League (I'm now completely last lol) I think it may be time for a change in my picking strategy. This week I won't go with as many underdogs (or underDUGS if you're from Baltimore) as I have been up to this point in the season. THIS WEEK, it looks like I'm only going to take 2 underdogs. I doubt this will help me regain any points in the Pick'Em League since I'm obviously the last person to figure this out (as my position in the league clearly demonstrates). So for those of you that have been following my picks, now may be the time to actually take my picks seriously and stop laughing.

Week 10 Picks...

Baltimore over Atlanta: This is probably going to be a trendy pick this week. Baltimore's a tough team and Atlanta just came off of a tough win last week. I expect this game to be very close but in the end I think the Ravens will win.

Buffalo over Detroit: I've been thinking the Bills would get their first win for a couple weeks now and they haven't. But with Matt Stafford being out and the game being in Buffalo AND Detroit being a dome team, maybe (just maybe) this is the week. Detroit's defense has been playing very well so it won't be easy but Ryan Fitzpatrick doesn't have a problem airing it out and hopefully one of my new favorite WR's in the league (Steve Johnson) can have another big game.

Minnesota over Chicago: The Bears annoy me and so does Minnesota. The Vikings defense is good enough to put pressure on Cutler and Lord knows Jay Cutler is prone to have a game where he likes to throw to the defenders more than his own receivers. Minnesota should be able to win this one if they are smart and rely on Adrian Peterson rather than Brett Favre.

Jets over Cleveland: I really really want to take Cleveland at home in this game. Peyton Hillis is playing like Mike Alstott used to and they're coming off a good win against one of the better teams in the NFL (Patriots). The difference is however, that the Jets defense is definitely better than the Patriots. The only question mark here is whether or not the Jets can muster enough offense to put Cleveland away. The Browns are going to show up for this game coming off that momentum from last week but I think the Jets will pull off the win.

Colts over Bengals: T.O. appears to be surging the last couple of weeks but the Bengals just aren't that good of a team overall. I'm definitely not convinced Carson Palmer is back but I may be convinced that T.O. is back if he has another monster game. Either way, I'm taking the Colts at home.

Titans over Dolphins: Miami's better on the road than at home. The Titans play really good defense and "just-good-enough" offense. Titans.

Houston over Jacksonville: Either I missed a serious injury to Andre Johnson, Arian Foster, or Matt Schaub. OR, somebody is out of their mind making the Jags a favorite in this game.

Kansas City over Denver: In a shoot-out.

Giants over Dallas: Jason Garrett is the answer Jerry? Really? I expect this to be SackFest 2010 with the Giants defense loading up and pulverizing John Kitna.

Arizona over Seattle: This was actually a tough pick for me but Arizona's playing at home and they've beaten Seattle once already this year.

49ers over Rams: Not sure why I picked the Niners but I picked the Niners.

Steelers over New England: Mike Tomlin will probably kill someone on the field if they lose this game at home.

Philly over Redskins: I'm picking against the Skins this week even with a bye week to prepare. Mike Vick is playing really well and unless they hurt him like they did last time I think he'll show why he's a worthy candidate for MVP this year (though I don't believe he'll win it and he'll win Comeback Player of the Year). It's gonna be a GREAT Monday Night game though. I can't wait!

NFL Picks - Week 9

This week's picks dedicated to the one-and-only Randy Moss...

Why's he actin' so RAAAAAANDY?!?!?!

As for my picks I'll keep it simple and straight-forward this week...

Tampa Bay over Atlanta: Ok ok, let me explain. I don't believe that Tampa is as good as their record. BUT, they play tough (solid defense and ball-control offense) and this is a divisional game so they'll be motivated. Besides, I'm in 11th place out of 13 in my pick'em league and I need to start picking some upsets.

Buffalo over Chicago: Another upset pick this week (see last sentence from previous pick). Buffalo's been trying hard for a win this season and Chicago is not that good. Solid defensively, but just like Brett Favruh, Jay Cutler is one bad interception away from losing any game. I'm gonna take a chance on the Bills getting their first win this week at home.

New England over Cleveland: No way I'm taking Mangini over Belicheck.

Jets over Detroit: The Jets offense better put up some points this week and I think they will but I do not think this will be an easy win. Detroit has a lot of talent on offense and after their win against my Skins last week they may very well have all that talent working together now. When-and-if they do get it together, that offense will be pretty scary.

Minnesota over Arizona: With or without Mr. Dyck-Pic, the Vikings win.

Saints over Carolina: After a nice win over one of the better teams in the NFL, I may be back on the Saints bandwagon.

Miami over Baltimore: This is a dumb pick I admit. I knew that when I picked it. But again, I've gotta pick some upsets. Miami's GREAT on the road and the Ravens tend to play down to their competition from time-to-time (ie - the Bills). So this just might be an UPSET SPECIAL!

Charger over Houston: It's time for San Diego to surge. It'll be worth nothing in January when they're at home after a play-off loss but still, it's time for a Charger surge. And I think it started last week.

Giants over Seattle: The ONLY reason I'm picking the Giants is because they had a bye week to prepare. Otherwise, I'd take Seattle because they're at home (I don't think it's easy to go to Seattle and win).

Oakland over Chiefs: Oakland is surging. Laugh if you want, but they are playing well. If they're dumb enough to bench Campbell for Gradkowski right now then they deserve to lose this game.

Indy over Philly: This is going to come down to the last possession. But who better to win a game on the last possession than Peyton? And even though I'm taking Indy, I hope Vick plays well.

Packers over Dallas: I won't say anything bad about Dallas other than they're gonna lose, again.

Steelers over Bengals: This will be a prime opportunity for the Steelers to rebound from their loss in N'awlins. I say it every week, Carson Palmer is washed up. I still believe this and I'm sure by now Ocho Cinco and T-Hoe are aware as well. I'm just surprised they haven't said anything publicly yet. This is a divisional game so I expect them to play well but I can't believe that after coming off a loss the Steelers will lose a game against an obviously weak team.

For a different perspective, check out my homie Lance's picks for this week.

NFL Picks - Week 8

Somehow, nobody managed to get a concussion last week. I wonder why? Am I the only person that saw defensive players pulling up so they wouldn't get penalized or am I trippin'?

Miami over Cincinnati: Did I mention how I think Carson Palmer is washed up?

Dallas over Jacksonville: This says less about Dallas and more about how bad the Jags are. Even without Romo the CowGals have enough talent to beat the Jags, right?

Redskins over Detroit: After being the ONLY team the Lions beat a year (or was it two) ago, I think my Skins will take this one. Unless they try to put Carlos Rogers on Megatron. In that case, I think it's a wrap for us.

Chiefs over Bills: Buffalo plays with a lot of heart but I'm starting to become a believer in the Chiefs.

Rams over Panthers: The Panthers stink.

Jets over Packers: After having a week to prepare for the Packers, I think the Jets defense will be dialed in.

Denver over San Fran: They have to rebound from that azz-whoopin' last week, right?

Titans over Chargers: Watch out for the Titans! They're showing that they are a very tough team this year (a la the Steelers) that's well-coached and disciplined. The Chargers on the other hand, are neither of those things.

Oakland over Seattle: No, this is not because they blew out the Broncos last week but because Oakland's defense is statistically pretty good against both the pass and the rush AND Seattle is near the bottom of the league in offensive passing and rushing. They're playing in Oakland after the Raiders had a HUGE win against a divisional foe last week and Seattle's only won a single game on the road this year (against the Bears). I'll go with Oakland on this one. Disclaimer: This pick was originally my "close your eyes and flip a coin who cares" pick, until I started looking at the stats.

New England over Minnesota: As much as people hate Bill Belicheck, he's a GREAT coach. Regardless of whether old man Favruh plays this week I think Minnesota is taking an "L". Favre's injury and the rift between he and Brad Childress isn't a good thing for this team as the season goes along. I think the Vikings may actually be better off starting Tavaris Jackson (more mobile than Favre) and playing run-first, ball control offense. Favre isn't getting it done so maybe it's time to rely on that horse in the backfield.

Tampa over Arizona: As it turns out, THIS GAME is my "close your eyes and flip a coin who cares" pick. I really don't believe Tampa is as good as their record. They're playing in Arizona and the Cardinals should have enough talent to win. This game will probably come down to who can run the ball better. Both teams are in the bottom of the league in rushing defense. I'm gonna go ahead and take my brother's team, Tampa.

Pittsburgh over New Orleans: I'm taking Pittsburgh but I would NOT be surprised if the Saints actually showed up for this game and put up a bunch of points. Pitt's defense is not that good against the pass statistically but they're in the top of the league when it comes to sacks. I think New Orleans has the talent to win ("obbbbbbviouslyyyyyyy") but I think that Pittsburgh is just a better team playing better football right now.

Colts over Houston: Houston's pass defense is HORRID but their rush offense is great! The Colts will figure out a way to minimize the damage Arian Foster's gonna bring and they'll also find a way to get some pressure on Matt Schaub. Offensively, Peyton will put up some points and I'm sure he's been studying the game tape (they're coming off a bye week people) from their early-season loss to Houston like he's about to take the MCAT.

NFL Picks - Week 7

Man that hit looked horrendous in regular speed and deadly in slow-motion. DeSean had memory loss and everything. But, this hit is a part of football and similar hits will happen again. I agree that helmet-to-helmet hits should be outlawed and suspensions levied, but having played football before I know how hard it is to avoid a helmet-to-helmet collision when you're at full speed out there and playing aggressively.

Moving right along... Shot out to the homie RipRock for posting his picks before mine, lol. I promise I made my picks without looking at yours so I wonder how many we'll have the same.

Atlanta over Cincy: Atlanta's playing at home after taking a horrible loss to Philly last week and I'm not convinced that the Bengals QB is good enough to win them a game if he has to. Atlanta will NOT get blown out like last week and if it's close I don't expect Carson to be able to get his team a win.

Redskins over Chicago: Although we lost last week we played the Colts pretty tough. The Bears aren't as good offensively as the Colts so I think we have a shot. The key is going to be whether or not we can 1) run the ball and 2) stop Julius Peppers from sacking Donovan 4 or 5 (or more) times.

Philadelphia over Tennessee: Philly is playing good football, no matter which QB they have behind center. Tennessee's defense has been playing good football but I think the Eagles might be the team to really expose them. Then again, Andy Reid's at play here and he sometimes finds ways to fock things up. Regardless though, I'm gonna go with Philly in this one.

Kansas City over Jacksonville: I'm starting to think Kansas City might actually be legitimate this year. Jacksonville, not so much.

Pittsburgh over Miami: This is gonna be a close one. May be a true defensive battle for both teams but this is where you will see why Ben is so important to the Steelers. At the end of the game, if he has the ball in his hands with a chance to lead the Steelers to a winning FG or TD, he will do it. It's almost a guarantee.

New Orleans over Cleveland: The Saints aren't playing well, but they aren't bad enough to lose to the Browns are they? I think NOT!

St. Louis over Tampa Bay: St. Louis is playing good football. Tampa has been playing decent also but my gut tells me the Rams are gonna win this one.

49ers over Panthers: The Panthers stink, badly.

Baltimore over Buffalo: Since it didn't happen last week, I guess this game will be the one where after a blow-out win the NFL prognosticators will have the Ravens in the Superbowl.

Seattle over Arizona: I talked a lot of garbage about Seattle in the first few weeks but their win last week convinced me that they may actually be a much better team that I think they are. Arizona's been stinking it up and I don't care if they beat the Saints they still stink.

Denver over Oakland: This one is actually a tricky one because it's a divisional game. The Raiders beat the Chargers (divisional foe) and now they are probably going to play well against the Broncos too. If Denver can avoid turnovers and dumb mistakes I think they'll be ok.

New England over San Diego: This is the type of game the Chargers typically win to make you *think* they're ok and they'll be in the running to make it to the AFC Championship game. Not.This.Year!

Minnesota over Green Bay: I'm not sure why, I just have a feeling. Favre against his old team and Green Bay's defense isn't playing as well as it did last year.

Giants over Cowboys: The Cowboys SUCK! I'm not saying that because I hate them but because every year the Cowboys are a paper champion. As long as Wade Phillips is the coach they will never win a Superbowl. They may very well make it there (not this year though) but they won't win one. I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't even make the play-offs this year.

NFL Picks - Weeks 5 & 6

Yep, I forgot (again) to post my picks last week. The worst part is that I only got 4 games right, which is pretty pathetic. I'm almost embarrassed to post them now but I'll go ahead and post them (without comments, lol).

Posthumous Week 5 Picks

Jacksonville over Buffalo --> Correct

Cincy over Tampa --> WRONG! Ok, I lied about the comments thing. Is it just me or is
Carson Palmer looking WASHED UP!?!? I have no faith in this dude anymore and I'll give it two more losses or week 8 (whichever comes first) before Chad and T-Hoe start publicly criticizing Carson. Marvin Lewis tried to take the blame for Palmer's 3rd interception but he blew that game for the Bengals.

Atlanta over Cleveland --> Correct.

St. Louis over Detroit --> Wrong. Shaun Hill. That's all.

Kansas City over Indy --> WRONG! My sleeper/upset pick. WOMP!

Green Bay over Washington --> Wrong! To my surprise we won this game. I didn't get to watch it so I'm SURE we tried our best to lose it but from what I understand Laron Landry turned into Sean Taylor this game so I'm kinda happy I was wrong and happy for him. He's playing at a pro bowl level this year. I'm still not convinced we'll be doing shyt in the long-run but we'll see how we fare against Peyton next week and that'll tell me a lot about how I should feel about the rest of the year.

Chicago over Carolina --> Correct. I'd actually picked Carolina initially now that I think about it, lol.

Baltimore over Denver --> Correct. No way Kyle Orton was gonna beat the Ravens at home.

Houston over G-Men --> Wrong. Matt Schaub and Arian Foster disappeared. Someone put out an A.P.B.!

New Orleans over Arizona --> Wrong. If the Saints lose next week to the Bucs I don't know if I can consider them a reliable pick anymore this season, even if it's against a team that stinks. Who played QB for Arizona in this game again? PreXACTLY!

Dallas over Tennessee --> Wrong. I pick Dallas and they lose, what a surprise. At home, after a bye week these bums lose. When are they gonna fire Bum Phillips, Jr? Really! He's done at the end of the season if the team is healthy and they don't make the Superbowl. I'm taking all bets on that one.

San Diego over Oakland --> Wrong. When are they gonna just fire Norv Turner, really. Norv Turner, Wade Phillips, and Andy Reid... My three least favorite and competent coaches on the league. Andy Reid used to get bailed out by Donovan all the time (yes, Philly fans, it's true) and now he better hedge his bets and hope that when Vick gets healthy he'll do the same because it sure looks like Kolb can only manage a game, not control/dominate one.

San Fran over Philly --> Wrong. San Fran gave this game away. It was really pathetic.

Jets over Minnesota --> Haven't played yet (I wrote this part on Monday afternoon). My guess is the Jets will win in a close game but with my luck thus far this week I'm almost sure I'm wrong. Oh well.

Now onto my picks for week 6...

Bears over Seahawks: The Bears are playing pretty well right now, especially defensively. And if Cutler comes back they'll probably put up some serious points. I don't think the Seahawks can keep pace.

Green Bay over Miami: It's in Green Bay. They're in need of a win. If Aaron Rodgers is not playing I will be changing this pick.

San Diego over St. Louis: After the embarrassing loss to Oakland they HAVE TO beat the Rams. Am I the only person that realizes once Shawne Merriman went off the HGH this team has not been the same? Also, am I the only person that KNOWS Norv Turner sucks? Norv was sucking long before Merriman got off the cream and the clear but this defense has NOT been the same since homie stopped shooting up them 'roids. San Diego's problem has always been that they are a finesse team with a coach that has no ability to get them "up" for the big games. Looks like it'll be the same 'ole story this year.

Baltimore over New England: After this game EVERYBODY will have the Ravens in the Super Bowl. With Randy Moss no longer there I don't see any reason why the Ravens will shy away from blitzing the crap out of Tom Brady. And this will be a good test to see if the Pats really do have a running game.

Giants over Detroit: G-Men are playing really well now. If they put pressure on Detroit's QB (Hill or Stafford) it's a wrap. The variables with the Giants are how Eli plays and whether or not they're defense puts pressure on the opposing team's QB. Last week, they have both clicking. We'll see if they can keep it up.

Atlanta over Philly: Philly almost blew the game against San Fran. Atlanta's a better team than San Fran. I have Mike Vick playing in this one even with the sore ribs but I don't think he'll be effective running and may even be timid because of the ribs. If Atlanta's smart they'll sit back in coverage, contain Mike Vick to the extent possible, and see if Vick can dink-and-dunk them enough to score a few times. I don't think he can while he's hurting. The threat of Mike Vick running is a game-changer.

Pittsburgh over Cleveland: Big Ben's back, right? Cleveland stinks, right? You already know what's going to happen. It's a divisional game so the Browns will play well. But I think Big Ben's coming back at the perfect time against the perfect opponent to have the perfect "warm-up" game. 300+ yards and 2 TDs (hopefully to Mike Wallace since he's on one of my fantasy squads).

Tampa Bay over New Orleans: This is my gut pick for the week. I have a feeling that New Orleans may just stink it up this year. They've been playing sub-par (by their standards) and something just seems off. This is a divisional game so I expect Tampa Bay to be competitive. Add-in how the Saints have been playing recently and I think the Bucs may have a little more confidence in being able to compete and win.

Houston over Kansas City: No way Arian Foster and Matt Schaub will pull a disappearing act two weeks in a row, right? Kansas City's a good team and a surprise this year but the surprise has to end at some point. Why not let the end begin this week, lol?

Jets over Broncos: Too much defense. Same thing the Ravens did to the Broncos, the Jets will do.

San Fran over Oakland: This is my "I hope they get one this week" pick. Oakland just beat the Chargers but that was a divisional game. I'm guessing they may just mail it in this week. This is a rivalry of sorts in itself, the "Across the Bay" rivalry. San Fran *should* be a better team, I think.

Minnesota over Dallas: Randy Moss will have a big game. Did you see Dallas's corners against Tennessee? Sheesh! I would not be surprised if Minnesota put up 40 points in this game. Anybody notice that I haven't mentioned Brett Favre's penis at all in the past few weeks even though the media can't "let it go" (HA!)

Washington over Indy: I know, I know. You think I'm crazy hyped off the win over the Packers. Well, I'm not. But I don't think we're going to roll-over for the Colts. If we can stick-it-out and beat the Packers (whose defense is better than the Colts), then why not be able to compete with the Colts? Yeah we'll give up a lot of short and medium passes to Peyton. Yes we will have to get our running game ready to rock-and-roll. And yes, if Mr. Freeney isn't contained we're in for a long day. But I'm gonna go out on a limb and pick us this week. If we can get this one, it'll be a solid home win against a solid team. Donovan's just mobile enough to not get sacked too many times and he can create on the run so I don't think the Freeney factor will be that huge. But if we can't play solid pass defense and run the ball we are short!

Tennessee over Jacksonville: Aside from Mike Vick, the "other black QB" that needs to get some props is who? Well it damn sure isn't David Garrard!!!! And that's why the Titans will win. Aside from the fact that Pinball (Chris Johnson) is about due for a 200-yard game.

NFL Picks - Week 4

Much like the week before... I sucked a big fat one last week too. I only got 9 picks right last week. Let's do a quick recap of the picks that I got wrong...

Kansas City beat the 49ers: Apparently, I was wrong about the "coming of age" moment for Alex Smith. His coming of age was more like Memphis Bleeks in that, he's still "one hit away".

Atlanta beat New Orleans: I'm not mad about this one. It was a divisional game and they can be close/tough. Hartley (who I also have on my fantasy squad) jacked that money and missed the kick. Which reminds me, I need to drop him from my fantasy squad.

Titans beat Giants: Focking Eli "The Enigma" Manning. This dude - and his mildly retarded facial expressions and demeanor - cannot be consistent to save his life.

Dallas beat Houston: Like I mentioned last week, I figured Dallas would win this one and piss me off. We beat Dallas in week 1. Houston beats us (Redskins) in week 2. And now Dallas beats Houston in week 3. Makes perfect sense, right?

Rams beat Redskins: Again, I said this last week "I was expecting St. Louis to win last week and it'll be just my luck that they beat the Redskins this week. Because you know, we lose games like this. Remember when Dallas went 1-15 years ago? Yeah, they beat us. Remember when the Lions only won 1 game (was that last year or the year before?), yeah they beat us. So this type of game is right up our alley. SMH." Yep, smh again!

Seattle beat San Diego: Seattle may be very well on their way to proving me wrong. San Diego on the other hand..."They were who we thought they were!" That is, a Norv Turner coached team.

Chicago beat Green Bay: Another divisional game that could have went either way.

Now onto this week's picks. Let's hope I get at least 10 games right this week.

Atlanta over San Francisco: Atlanta showed a lot of heart and grit when beating the Saints so I'll take them at home over San Francisco. The Niners need a win really bad I just don't think they'll get it this week.

Jets over Buffalo: The Bills are winless for a reason. They suck. I'm expecting the Jets to pitch a shut-out.

Cincy over Cleveland: The "Battle of Ohio". Cincy has way more talent on both sides of the ball.

Green Bay over Detroit: This might be an upset special. Detroit came very close to beating the Bears in week 1. I don't think Matt Stafford's going to play but Shaun Hill is actually serviceable at times. Jahvid Best is a touchdown-waiting-to-happen so it'll be interesting to see if the Packers defense can stop him. But unless he has one of those Al Bundy games (4 TDs, Polk High, ya'll know what I'm talking about) and the Packers can't score on the Lions defense I see this being a rout.

Titans over Broncos: Pinball (Chris Johnson) will have another solid game. The difference-maker in my mind here is that they're going to be playing in Tennessee.

Seattle over St. Louis: Seattle will probably blow St. Louis out simply because I talked so much crap about the Seahawks over the past few weeks and because the Rams beat the Redskins last week.

Saints over Panthers: Carolina needs to get their running game together FAST or it's going to be a LONG season.

Pittsburgh over Baltimore: This is gonna be a game that all the people who love smash-mouth football will enjoy. Low-scoring, hit-fest. Whoever turns the ball over more than the other team will lose. Also, I think Ray Rice is hurt and why bring him back against the Steelers defense (at this point in the season) to take a bruising when they'll need him in the long run. Steelers by 3 points.

Houston over Oakland: Oakland is second in pass defense but near the bottom of the league in rush defense. Can we all say in unison, Arian Foster?

Indy over Jacksonville: The Jags are horrible this year. David Garrard is playing horribly and I don't think Dwight Freeney's presence will help that.

Washington over Philly: Obviously this is my "he's a Skins fan reaching out on a limb for an upset" special this week. I love what Mike Vick is doing but I'm picking my Skins to go to Philly and upset the Eagles. They've gotta rebound from that horrible performance last week.

San Diego over Arizona: No comment.

Chicago over the Giants: Giants only have six sacks this season. Unless that number increases dramatically this week, it's a wrap against Cutler's gunnin' azz!

Miami over New England: This is my real upset pick of the week (notice, I've only picked 3 underdogs, lol). It's a divisional game and the Dolphins played the Jets tough last week. The game is in Miami so maybe a little distraction from J-Lo in the owner's box will work in the Dolphins favor.

NFL Picks - Week 3

Before I say anything I would like to give a big Newport News shot-out to Ron Cot Damn Mexico (pictured above). The boy came out in Week 2 and did the dayum thing. Even though they gave up a helluva lead in the 4th quarter Mike Vick played pretty daggon well. Props to him and here's wishing that he wins this week as a starter but loses if he's starting against my Skins.

I pretty much sucked it up last week. I only got 8 picks right, talked shyt about my favorite team (Redskins) that they disproved (but still lost, lol), and fell to 7th place in the standings in my pick'em league. But you know what? I'm not worried. This week's picks seem a little "too easy" so I'm expecting a few upsets (when I first looked I only had 2 upsets this week that I thought would happen). Anywho, let's get to pickin'....

San Francisco over KC: I would NOT be surprised if Kansas City shows up for this game (as in, plays well) but San Fran showed a lot against the Saints last week and it seemed like a "coming of age" game for Alex Smith so I'm gonna bet on San Fran's defense (that boy Patrick Willis is a BEAST) and a solid dose of Frank Gore for a San Fran win in a close one.

Vikings over Lions: Minnesota's gotta win at some point. And if they can't beat the Lions then Brett may as well hang em up after Week 3. Seriously.

New England over Buffalo: New England seemed to take that loss against the Jets a little harder than normal (well at least Randy Moss anyway in my opinion) so I'm expecting a blow-out this week. This is gonna be a good week for Randy Moss and Tom Brady fantasy owners.

New Orleans over Atlanta: If this game were in Atlanta I'd probably pick the Falcons. Divisional games are always tough and even though I don't think the Falcons will really do much in the long-run this year, they will be a tough divisional foe for the Saints.

Titans over Giants: Word is that Vince Young is starting so I'm picking the Titans. The Giants are a good team but I think the Titans defense can hold-up against them. Oh yeah, ya'll remember what I said about Brandon Jacobs last week right? That he needed Anger Management. And look what that bama went and did. I may change this pick though b/c I just realized the G-Men are playing at home. Decisions, decisions...

Pittsburgh over Tampa Bay: My brother is a Bucs fan (don't ask me why he grew up in MD and used to be a CowGirls fan and has never liked the Redskins) and he's predicting that the Bucs beat the Steelers. I'm predicting they get trounced like a cheap Mexican prostitute on the "old" Las Vegas Strip.

Cincy over Carolina: Either Chad or T-Ho will have 2 TDs this week, I'm just not sure which one.

Baltimore over Cleveland: Living in the land of Ray Lewis is kind of funny when you're not a Ravens fan. People here worship this dude like a God or demagogue perhaps. It's so bad that when some of the Ravens zealots at my job get sick I say: "I'm sorry to hear you're sick but I bet you'll feel better knowing that Ray Lewis feels great today."

Houston over Dallas: I'm not gonna lie, this is my "I'm still salty about the Redskins losing to them last week" pick. Even though I figure the bumazz CowGirls will probably win this one big and have all the prognosticators back on the "Dallas to the Superbowl" bandwagon, I am going to pick the Texans.

Washington over St. Louis: I was expecting St. SMH.

Philly over Jacksonville: Week 2 of the Michael Vick show. I'm still trippin' off how people are calling the Eagles about Kolb and NOT Vick. Andy Reid's made it pretty clear that the long-term guy is gonna be Kolb but I guess since Vick is older and brings a bad reputation (yeah, they still on that) there's no point in trying to get him. I also like how Andy Reid is using Vick's mobility and their weak offensive line as his excuse to start Vick this week when Helen Keller could have listened to the game last week and knew to start Vick over Kolb. Andy Reid is almost in Norv Turner territory now that I think about it. Another "can't get the team over the hump" kinda coach.

Denver over Indy: This is my "lunchin' like shyt" pick this week. I know, I'm lunching. But watch, lol.

Indy over Denver: Just checked the injury report.

Arizona over Oakland: This game wasn't as easy of a pick as I thought it would be. Arizona appears to be rancid this year and Oakland is the perennial shyt-sandwich of the AFC. But I'll go with Arizona just because Oakland is gonna have to win a lot of tough games before I pick them again. Either that or I'll just flip-flop and pick them when I feel like it lol.

San Diego over Seattle: Last week we saw the real Seattle team. That's all I have to say. If they aren't playing at home they're going to pretty much suck. I know what you're saying, they're playing at home this week. Yeah, but they still aren't good enough to beat San Diego.

Jets over Miami: Miami has played two tough games. The Jets have played two tough games. I mentally flipped a coin on this one. I think the Jets have the better defense and if they can put some points up on the board they'll be ok.

Green Bay over Chicago: This game can really go either way. Green Bay's going to throw the ball every down so it's going to come down to how the Bears defense can hold up. The Bears will throw every down too but the Packers have a solid secondary (ie - Charles Woodson) and they can put a lot of pressure on the QB. I can't wait to watch this game because I know it's going to be a shoot-out.

NFL Picks - Week 2

And to the picture below I say, IT'S ABOUT TIME!!!! Shut up and play some football Clinton! Before Clinton Portis gets in front of a microphone he needs to do two things. The first, is call Brian Mitchell and ask "Should I open my big-azz Miami Hurricane arrogance having azz mouth?" The second is call John Riggins. He won't need to ask Riggo anything because Riggins will just say "Clinton, shut the fock up!"

Last week I got 12 picks right. If it weren't for Phillip Rivers freezing up like a popsicle in the 4th quarter and dumb-azz Dustin Keller being semi-concussed from Ray Lewis's hit and not getting that first down I'd have had 14 picks right. The only pick I really got wrong (in my crazy world) last week was the Colts pick but I'd guess that I'm in the majority on that one.

Now onto this week's picks...

Atlanta over Arizona: They're playing in Atlanta. Atlanta's defense played ok last week (yes I know it was against Dennis "how long until he comes out of the closet" Dixon) and I just don't have any confidence in the Cardinals right now. Completely random: If Adrian Peterson is Purple Jesus then what is Kurt Warner, White Messiah? WOMP WOMP WOMMMMMMP!

Baltimore over Cincy: The Ravens defense is going to play well but this will be a true test for their DBs against T-Ocho. I expect Cincinatti to play well in this game and keep it close and it wouldn't surprise me if they won but I just can't bet against Ray Lewis right now. By the way, remember this hit? Yeah, me too lol.

Kansas City over Cleveland: I'm gonna say it again, Dexter McCluster is my sleeper Rookie of the Year pick. I said it last week and I'm saying it again this week. I'm not even sure why Kansas City is an underdog in this one after beating the Chargers last week. Oh, that's right... The Chargers beat themselves with their own ineptness in the red zone (effing Phillip Rivers)! Anywho, I expect Jamal Charles and Thomas Jones to have a field day. And I also expect my boy DEXTER to have another TD either in the return game or on some sort of trick play. I'm tellin' ya'll to watch out for the speedster from Ole Miss!

Dallas over Chicago: This is going to be a shoot-out. The difference is going to be Jay Cutler throwing one or two more INTs than Tony Homo. Dallas is fluke again this year AS USUAL but I'm not so anti-CowGals that I won't pick them this week. I expect Miles Austin to have a field day. My Skins would not have beaten Dallas last week were it not for that bonehead offensive lineman but Dallas has the most inept coach in the league next to Norv Turner and the most OVER-RATED offensive coordinator in the league. Just a sidebar, Sean Payton is the best play-caller in the NFL.

Philadelphia over Detroit: GO MIKE VICK! I wanna see this guy succeed so all the idiots that still hate him because of Bad Newz Kennelz can watch him revive his career. GO! MIKE! VICK!

Green Bay over Buffalo: Too easy. Next!

Tennessee over Pittsburgh: Pittsburgh can't put up enough points on Tennessee's defense and that'll be their downfall. Pinball (Chris Johnson) is going to have one or two big plays and Vince Young should be able to play "don't fock this one up for us" just well enough for the Titans to win in a close one. It's not gonna be easy but at home I'll give Tennessee the edge. By the way, "Pinball" is an original name I came up with for Chris Johnson because he bounces around and shoots off (pause) like a pinball. If you use it please credit this blogpost. Thanks in advance.

Minnesota over Miami: Old man Favruh will return to form this game. I'm thinking 2 maybe 3 TDs and 2 of those "only Brett Favre could do that dumb shyt, get away with it, and the announcers make it seem like he's a God" plays. I also expect Purple Hey-Soos to have a big day. Brandon Marshall, who?

Carolina over Tampa Bay: If Carolina sticks to running the ball with a couple play-action shots to Steve Smith this is likely to be a blow-out. If they don't stick to running the ball, then the Bucs have a chance at winning.

Denver over Seattle: Seattle may have pummeled the 49ers last week but I refuse to believe that's the real Seattle team. If they go to Denver this week and win, I'll start believing they're not the same ole' Seahawks. And it's not that Denver is that good, it's that going to Denver and winning isn't easy.

Rams over Oakland: This is my sorta-sleeper pick. The Rams suck. The Raiders suck. This is like the SuckBowl. But I think that Sam Bradford is going to lead his team to a win. It's just a hunch I have. Or is it a hutch? I dunno, but you know what I mean.

New England over the Jets: Randy Moss gets stranded on Revis Island (Revis is the new Champ Bailey in terms of over-hyped CBs by the way), maybe has a short-yardage TD and about 70 yards. But it's not about Moss, it's about Welker. This game will be all about 3 things: 1) How much time the male model (Tom Brady) has to throw the ball, 2) How many passes Wes Welker catches, and 3) Whether or not the Jets can establish the run (because they damn sure can't rely on their male model - Mark Sanchez- to win a game). New England is probably a better coached team even though I don't like Belicheck very much and the the Snack Man may have talked so much he's got those guys thinking they're better than they really are. Like Ray Lewis said, you can talk all you want but at some point you gotta put them pads on and play football. New England by a TD.

Chargers over Jags: We all know how the Chargers roll. They're going to run off a winning streak of 6 or so games, look like a Super Bowl contender, get to the first round and depending on their matchup get smashed or squeak through to the second round and then what I call the "Law of Norv Turner" will take over. The Law of Norv Turner is that no team eVar in life, for eternity, that is coached by Norv will win a championship in any sport at any level (not even a pre-pubescent miniature golf team that is the only team in the entire pre-pubescent mini golf league). It will simply throw off the balance of human life. It'll render all women infertile, all men will grow vaginas, and Ryan Seacrest will become straight, I'm convinced. That's a bit over-the-top but my point is that Norv doesn't have what it takes to get a team over the proverbial hump. Aside from that, Shawne Merriman is off the HGH so just like last year, that defense won't be able to hold up.

Houston over MY SKINS: I love the Redskins. But not blindly like a lot of my fellow Skins fans. The facts of the matter are...1) McNabb is a good QB but he has a similar set of weapons to what he had throughout his career in Philly and he has consistent problems with his accuracy. 2) We don't have a RB with any sort of explosiveness. The only thing Larry Johnson explodes on are his women, WITH HIS FISTS. He and Portis are just guys who run to a whole, get grabbed, stumble, and go down after maybe getting 3-8 yards. There will be no consistent break-away runs by a Redskins RB this year, I guarantee that. They were hoping Willie Parker could provide that but everybody else in the world knew he was washed up, why didn't we? 4) The only safety we have that can catch an INT (Chris Horton) doesn't even start. 5) Our best CB is a pretty boy that gets lucky once every game and gets an INT or a fumble recovery. 6) We went to a 27-year old rookie WR twice on a fade pattern last week. Granted, he's got a great story but ummm yeah, 27 year old rookie on a fade pattern twice in a close game when you've got Santana Moss and Chris Cooley to throw to. And 7)... Our defense lives by the bend-but-don't break rule and it works well sometimes. But when the defense breaks, that shyt BREAKS! And for that latter reason I expect us to lose this week. Arian Foster, Andre Johnson, and Matt Schaub are going to make fantasy owners happy this week.

Giants over Indy: Sorry Peyton, last week showed me that your defense isn't up to par. Not even close. And with Bob Sanders doing his best Yao Ming impression over the last few years, I expect your defense to only get worse. Dwight Freeney can't get a sack on every play. If the Giants are smart they'll run a lot of Brandon "Anger Management" Jacobs (he doesn't seem like the douche in the club that gets drunk and wants to fight all the little guys to ya'll, I'm just saying) in the first half and even more Bradshaw in the second half. The Giants receivers are good enough to give Eli some solid shots down the field and along those lines I expect my boy Mario Manningham to get it together this week and score. I'm also curious to see if Hakeem Nicks continues to play Plaxico Burress better than Plaxico played himself.

Saints over San Fran: This game will probably be a lot closer than everybody expects it to be. I wouldn't be surprised if it was close until the 4th quarter. The 49ers just don't have enough offensive firepower to keep up with the Saints and the Niners defense is going to give the Saints some trouble and I'm rooting for my boy Patrick Willis to have a great day but that offense can't be contained for 4 quarters, not unless Drew Brees gets hurt.

How Did I Forget to Post My NFL PIcks for the Week???

Maybe it's because there's been a shytload of stuff on my mind outside of football or because my mother and brother's birthdays were both last week and my parents anniversary is today. It's been somewhat of a whirlwind in more ways than one over the past 2 weeks.

Nevertheless, even after most of the games this week being done, I'm still posting my picks. Of course, these were made prior to any games being played.

New Orleans over Minnesota: The game was in New Orleans, they're coming off a Superbowl win, and old man Favruh has barely been there in the pre-season. Not to mention the Saints are well-coached and won't just fold if the Vikings had come out and scored on two or three straight possessions.

Miami over Buffalo: Trent Edwards is Buffalo's QB which means the other team will ALWAYS have a chance, even in Buffalo in the middle of winter with Santa Claus playing QB... The other team will ALWAYS have a chance to beat Buffalo regardless. You could make every skill player as fast and elusive as CJ Spiller and as long as Trent Edwards is at QB, the other team will ALWAYS have a chance. In a nutshell, Buffalo sucks. They need Marv Levy back.

Chicago over Detroit: I wasn't really gung-ho about the Bears in this game because it's a divisional rivalry and Cutler's good for 2 or 3 INT's at any given moment. BUT, Matthew Stafford and Megatron (see pic above) are not enough to overcome Mike Martz offense with Matt Forte.

Tennessee over Oakland: Jason Campbell might help Oakland get better but they're still *Chris Berman voice* THE RAAAIIIIDAHS!

New England over Cincy: Cincinatti is NOT FOR REAL. DO NOT BELIEVE THE HYPE THIS YEAR! Even though I wanna support him because he's a black coach, Marvin Lewis needs to be gone after this season if Cincy doesn't do really really well.

Giants over Panthers: Eli has enough weapons to put points on the board and unless DeAngelo Williams and Steve Smith score 3 TDs between them, I don't think Carolina has a chance.

Pittsburgh over Atlanta: Atlanta, much like Cincy, IS NOT FOR REAL. Pittsburgh (even with Dennis *I think he is a fruit* Dixon) at QB will play defense well enough to keep the game close and let Jeff Reed kick them to a win.

Tampa Bay over Cleveland: Flip a coin. I think I subconsciously made this pick because my brother is a Bucs fan and his birthday was last week. Outside of that, I have no real reasoning behind this pick.

Jacksonville over Denver: If I'd thought about this one again I may have picked Denver because the 10th wonder of the world slash second coming of the Messiah slash most humble person on earth (Tim Tebow) plays for Denver. But I had confidence in MJD and no confidence in Kyle Orton.

Indianapolis over Houston: If you're into stats in this division you'd know that the Texans have only beaten the Colts like 2 times in the last 16 meetings. The Colts also have Peyton Manning. This pick was a no-brainer for me, even with the game being in Houston.

Arizona over St Louis: It's St. Louis... with a rookie QB.

Green Bay over Philly: I figured this would be a gritty game and a couple big plays would make the difference. I'll take Aaron Rodgers gun-slingin' the Pack to a win.

San Fran over Seattle: This is supposed to be the year San Fran runs the division. Seattle always plays well but manages to suck just enough to not do anything in the post-season. They're an enigma if you ask me.

Washington over Dallas: I'm die-hard Skins fan. There's the explanation you were seeking. Aside from that we play at home. And EVERY EFFING YEAR the media and prognosticators sice Dallas up to be a juggernaut and what happens, EVERY EFFING YEAR... THEY BLOW IT! This year will be no different, starting in Week 1.

Jets over Ravens: I live in Bmore and even though I'm a Skins fan, I have NO PROBLEMS with the Ravens at all. I think they have the talent to win, but I just don't think they'll be able to go to NY and win this one.

San Diego over KC: SD's going to come out strong this year. Ryan Matthews and Phillip Rivers will have big games. I hope my sleeper Rookie of the Year Pick (Dexter McCluster) plays though. This kid is going to be exciting it's just too bad most people will only get to see it on Sportscenter because nobody watches Chiefs games, lol.
