Can't say I didn't try...
After months and months of pondering whether to join myspace due to societal influences beyond my control or ability to ignore forever...I tried to join my-wack-a$$-space about 30 minutes ago.
This attempt only confirmed what I had always thought and expected. The site is a glorified version of Blackplanet.com. The sign-up process was SLOW, complicated, and gave wayyy too many options for someone as simple-minded as myself to complete in a decent amount of time. I actually made it through a decent part of setting everything up, but it was just too much shyt! Jeez! I gotta put my life in their database just to sign-up and have my real friends on my e-friends list! WTF? Aside from that, everything just seemed e-GHETTO.
I really wish I could join and not have feelings of regret afterward. I really do. I could probably have made a nice network of e-friends and had some e-fun. But it was e-frustrating as e-hell trying to sign-up for the daggon site. And that e-liminated me from e-caring n-e-more.
I've always been reluctant to sign up and this experience just confirmed those feelings for me. Sorry people, no myspace for me...At least not for another few months (LOL). Actually, you might be able to find my blank-a$$ myspace page still up there since their server seemed to be having convulsions while I was trying to sign-up. Check me out on myspace: http://myspace.com/mcarroll4716 (you knew what my "handle" was gonna be, right?)
BLOGGER.COM...You have my allegiance and loyalty...For now! You guys are short as hell once I get another computer and start running my own server and website. ;-)
Until then, Imma leave this myspace shyt up to Dane:
Weezie, tell em how I feel:

You are a cot d@mn fool MC...seriously...when I say I needed this laugh this morning...I was cracking up...but seriously, let us all take a moment of silence for MC crossing over to the other side....ok....now back to bidness....LMBO!
Man that joint was hilarious. I guess I will have to hold it down alone on the myspace thing until I stop being lazy and find enough time to cross over to the blogger.com site. You just set such a high standard to live up to though. LOL
Dane
I am glad you guys got a laugh out of this one. That whole process upset me a bit though. Maybe it was my fault for trying to do that around midnight after having just ate. I dunno. But I think they have some SERIOUS issues with their site and how things are setup; how to navigate; and the amount of crap you have to enter as a part of your account/profile. I mean damn, they're collecting more personal info than the Census Bureau.
I've got a problem with movies, businesses, and other non-'individuals' being on social networking sites. This is outside my general bias against social networking sites. I believe in a fundamental seperation of advertising and socializing. You can't conversate with a movie. (And if you do, seek help immediately).
Jeez Lauren...Separation of advertising and socializing? You don't think that's already been broken-down to the point where it's irreparable. I mean, alot of us are walking advertisements through the clothes we wear, stuff we eat/drink, etc. I am not sure if I agree with you on this one. Gotta give it some thought
I'm mad at you Mike. You should have already known by just LOOKING at that low-quality site! I mean how do you compare that mess to blogger.com? I can't believe you left me on the sane side by myself! That's cool though. I'll hold it down over here solo. =)
Yeah, it's really not a very classy and sexy site like this one (LOL). It was real slow and it was just confusing and overwhelming so I left it alone and decided against it. I'm back on the right side of things now. ;-)
