PUH-LEEEEEZ! Robin Thicke

"I wanna love you girl, I wanna love you girl...Blah blah blah...WHATEVER!"

Many of you are about to be mad with me because I know you like this song. I like this song too, BUT...

1. Is it just me or does this guy seem to have no real singing talent? I mean, I could almost do as good as he does on this song. Where's the range? Can we get a note and not just this soft-a$$ monotone crap the whole song?

2. Shouldn't this be a BUSTA RHYMES song featuring Robin Thicke? Busta gets his thing off on this joint and really steals the show. Robin Thicke says the same thing over and over and over again. Yeah man we know...If you don't get at her someone else will...blah blah blah

3. Does this dude seem like a fake-Justin Timberlake to you or is it just me? I mean he sounds alot like Justin in this song but he doesn't appear to have the ability to sing in any other tone than what we hear in this video and the lil Wayne Shooters video (which is wack to me by the way. The video that is)

So while you enjoy the song below, think about the fact that nowadays they can throw anyone with a slight bit of talent over a good beat and add a popular rapper and everybody is supposed to think it's DOPE! Nah nikka! NOT ME! I like the beat, YES! I like Busta's verse, YES! But I'm not feeling this Thicke guy (no Johnnycakes). Not at all. I need to hear a ballad or something where he shows he can do more than just talk in a soft, fake suave voice. Until then...PUH-LEEEEZ stop trying to pass this off as talent.

Could he possibly be the offspring of this guy (Alan Thicke):

YOU make the call (seventh "paragraph" down)!

Yeah that's his kid. But did you realize this song is almost a year old? I swear I saw a video, featuring Pharrell, this time last year and promptly found something else to do.

A year! Wow! I guess it didn't blow until the put Busta on it while Busta was poppin. The song is very listen-to-able...But I am NOT impressed by this guy at all.

Yeah I heard that song and saw the video last year in the summer when it was just him and Pharrell. I actually felt like it was better before Busta was on it but that's because they cut off part of the song and it seems to cluttered with Busta, Spliff, and whoever that other dude is. It really doesn't sound like a Robin Thicke song with all them people. The album Robin Thicke is about to drop is actually his second one. He used to rock long hair and do Grunge before he tried to steal Justin Timberlakes style...LOL.

Yeah its been out a year and I was feelin it before the Busta addition as well...but it wasn't get much radio play so I guess they figured that they needed to do something....I hope his album is alright...we all go through different phases in life so this is probably just another phase for him...hope it works out....

We'll see. I hope I see some versatility and not just what he's done on Weezie F. Baby's joint and this joint.

oh no. Not my Robin! Well what do we think about his second song? http://www.myspace.com/robinthicke

Yes, HIM! The Justin Timberlake voice-double and Jon B. everything-else double. For some reason I couldn't get that second track to play, but at the same time I don't feel disappointed. Maybe I'll hear something else by this guy and like it. But until then he's just another guy who sounds like the rest of those guys.

Aww Mike!! LOL!!!! You're making me feel bad (well not really), because I LOVE JT AND JON B. But I don't think you made that comparison to put those two down anyway... i think. I just love these white boys putting it down to make me feel like a WOMAN! Just as long as the music's right and the voice doesn't crack a window, I'm straight. I guess I'm so not a harsh critic. =)

Nah, not saying anything bad about JT or Jon B. I used to love Jon B and I rocked JT's cd faithfully. But this dude has yet to prove himself.

this is thicke's second album (he used to just go by thicke, i dont know whats up with the first name now) he had long hair and looked dirty before and despite the fact that he was SANGIN' on his last album (i mean the boy can sing, really sing!!!) his album tanked. his last album was very musical, very well voiced and over the average-"all i want to do is shake my rump"- consumers' head. that and his image didnt help at all. who wants to look at a grunge dirty boy sing like a black soul star?? anyway, i guess this second album's image is trying to play him to the mass market better...

I guess I need to go cop the first joint then. Or at least wait for another single from this one. This is that club-friendly/radio-friendly lead single though, so he may end up dropping a ballad or something next. We'll see.
