The SPILL: Corinne Bailey Rae

It was recommended to me to check out this young ladie's CD by a good friend of mine, TCLARKE so I checked it out. In fact, before I even checked it out on my own, she sent me a few songs off the CD and I was pretty impressed. So what'd I go and do? I went out and just bought the album (Best Buy - $10). And boy-oh-boy was I pleasantly surprised!

This CD has the sound of Norah Jones mixed with the sultry melodies of "Mama's Gun". And we all know that Mama's Gun by Erykah Badu is a CLASSIC album. If you disagree or have never heard it, you need to listen to it.

Much like that CD, Corinne Bailey Rae's CD takes you through the twists and turns of love, confusion, pain, and happiness. Anyone who's been in love, fallen out of love, and decided to love again someday should be able to relate to the content of this CD and enjoy the music. I know that right now it's helping a VERY good friend of mine through some tough times.

That's the type of music we NEED! The kind that can help you through your real life problems. Help you deal with the pain, appreciate the happiness, and live to love again/anew someday. And that's precisely what Ms. Bailey Rae has given us.

Check out some of her songs on my "Virtual Playlist" (see top right of this page). ENJOY!

Obviously I need to move. I'm the only person around here that's even heard of her! Let alone bought her album.

If you like Corrine Bailey Rae, take a sec and listen to Amel Larrieux's new outing, "Morning"

Good look on that Amel recommendation Lauren. I have her first two joints and they're along the same lines as Corinne's joint. YES! You need to move. Just NOT back to SmaltiWhore. There are bigger and better places for someone like you. Much better!
